Leaving
Puligny-Montrachett we headed to
Beaune (sounds like bone) to tour the
Hotel Dieu. This was a hospital build exclusivly for the poor in the 12th century and run by the Sisters of Charity until the 1970s. There is still a nusting home on part of the property the raises money by making wine. The hospital is conidered one of the finest examples of Flemmish architecture in Burgundy. It was most left intact durring the French Revoultion due to its origin caring for the poor. The have a incredible taspisrty collection and a large format painting of the last judgement.
