Spain- Day 2- Ostrich Park

From Purto Portales we headed to an ostrich park.  From the get go I thought this was going to be cheesy and on that it didn't disappoint.  I also thought it was going to peg the lame meter which I thought it did, but it was the only person in our group, and apparently the world if you believe this or this.  In the intrest of full disclosure I'm not a big ostrich fan to start.

The park is run by a mother (Israeli), father (Dutch), and son team who discovered ostriches while living in Africa and selling trinkets to tourists on safari.  It's hard to argue they know their ostriches and were passionate about sharing them.  The highlight of the visit was supposed to be riding Nelson the ostrich but he's apparently been suffering from a kidney problem for some months and out of the riding rotation.  Instead meeting the baby chicks too top billing.  We kept telling Conor they were birds and he insister "no, dog" We also learned ostriches are terrible jumpers and terrified of hot air balloons.
