Bergen

We pulled into the Bergen harbor in a decent rain and docked just across from our hotel, the Hotel Havnekontoret.  Forget anything you know about Choice Hotels in the States, this was my favorite hotel in Norway.  Modern without being weird, great old character with modern conveniences,  and a great location.

Bergen is my favorite city we've visited.  So much character.  The area along the water front, at least the part that didn't get blown up by accident on purpose. The
warehouses near the Bryggen are even recognized a world heritage site, not to mention cool to walk through.  Conor loved exploring the "caves".

The Bergen fish market was a quick walk from the hotel, and the most reasonable priced place to eat we found in Norway.  There were so many stalls we all split up and sampled something.

Conor loved these giant live crabs.  They were right at eye level and he loved watching their mouths move.  He was convinced they were taking with him and playing back.  He told them the stories of the Billy Goats Gruff, his friends and school and his family.

This will be my band name and logo.
