Charleston, SC

Returning to the aquarium after Ft. Sumter, the four of us headed off for a late reverse lunch.  And by reverse lunch, I mean we started, at Sugar for cupcakes and some of the best mint-lemon sun tea ever.  Sugar is well worth the trip.  It's in a "transitional" neighborhood, and it's nice to get away from the high end shopping and see some of the rest of the city.  The owners were architects in NYC before deciding to return to their roots in Charleston.  I don't know about the buildings they designed, but the cupcakes are top notch.  Bit of a different take through, the cakes seem to be all yellow or vanilla with all of the yumminess in the icing.  It works.

To come down off the sugar high we walked a few blocks to Five Loaves Cafe, a terrific place for soup/salads/sandwiches.  It was too hot for anyone to try to soups they are famous for, but the sandwiches and salads we're the best.

After that we wandered back to King and Broad and put together our own waking tour.
