Leaving Kiawah for the day Steph, Kelsey, Julie and I set off for Ft. Sumter. There are several ferries to the island, so we opted for the one that leaves from Charleston, near the aquarium. There is a small vistors center, enough to kill some time before the ferry ride. The tour is on a timetable, there is a 30 minute ferry ride, you get about an hour on the island (which is enough time) and the half hour ride back. Most of the brick work is original, as are the guns.
